So…man, it has been years since I did this blogging thing. I used to have a journal over @ caleida, but at some point that site went down. I wish I could go back and reread some of the crazy shit I wrote about, but, so it goes. I'm hoping this blog's not gonna be as stupid as my old one (really, anything I said my freshman year in high school had to be stupid), but we'll see. I still have some shining moments.
Anyway, I have no qualms about the friending thing. If I somehow interest you, by all means say hello, and I'll say hi back. I don't bite very much, and if I do, it's okay. I got all my shots.

Feb. 20th, 2012 05:46 pm I just preregistered for Tekko!! I'm going to be sporting my moogle costume and will have the company of my friend K! I haven't been there since 06, so I'm pretty pumped. For some reason though I thought it was the last weekend in March, but it's the weekend before that, so I need to fix my schedule at work. I requested off the wrong days! XD

So this past weekend I stayed up at the boyfriend's place. I usually go up once a month. It was fun and I had a really great time :) We had a little party on Saturday with his friends from school, who were hilarious. It really made me miss my time at school and the friends I had there. Its weird, how I'm always looking to rewind but not appreciating what's here until it's gone. In college I missed high school, now I graduated and I miss college, lol. Oh wellll~
Anyway, while I was up there, he taught me how to play Magic the Gathering. I used to play waaaay back when it first came out, my older brothers had cards and they taught me, even though I was probably like 5. But he taught me, and now I play online now too, but I'm not very good. I did beat him twice though :) So I guess there is hope for me yet!
I have also been busy with a manga project I am working on. I finished chapter 3 past week and am starting on chapter four. There are 7 chapters in volume one, and I hope to be done by May and try to get it published. It'd be so sweet if it took off, I really could use the cash, haha. But it's also something I enjoy doing, even though it's a lot of work. In some ways I am constricted, because the characters are not mine, someone else is writing the story, so I hope they are likable, but at the same time, that depends a lot on how I draw them. Hopefully I am doing well. It's hard for me to judge it because I always see what needs improved, but I guess that's good too. I'd like to think each chapter is improving as I go, to the point where I want to go back and get chapter one and two up to speed with 3, which looks heaps better. I'm hoping chapter 4 looks even better than 3. Gotta keep aiming up!
Game-wise, besides Magic, I started playing Kingdom Hearts coded on the DS. It's different, but I really like upgrading the abilities and combining them. I've played the other KH games, except for Birth By Sleep because I don't have a PSP. Maybe one day I can emulate it or something on the computer.

Battlestar!
Jan. 17th, 2012 03:44 pm Just got home from visiting some family yesterday that live out of state. It's always fun to visit, and I always wish I could stay longer! While I was there, my brother totally got my hooked on Battlestar Galactia. I didn't think I'd like it cause I'm not much for sci fi, but this is good. I totally see a fic in this somewhere, fusing Battlestar and FFVI (ironically!) together somehow, but I'm just not sure what it'd be! And I'm sure it'd have to be chaptered (how would that kind of plot be just one shot??) but I just don't have chaptered stories in me anymore. I can't even finish the Furuba stories I started years ago.
But anyway, I'm totally hooked on the show. I'm four episodes into season 2 and I'm trying so hard to not pop in the next dvd (I got to borrow a few before I left!). I have so much work to do. But…battlestar…is…so …tempting! Ahhhhh!

I always knew that if I didn't succeed with art in school, that I'd do something with languages. People, their countries, customs, language, culture, all of it fascinates me. I took five years of Spanish in high school, but I don't remember much since it has been a long time. I've been trying to relearn Spanish independently with a few texts I bought, and my last semester at school, I had the great opportunity to take a few Japanese lessons from other students who were from Japan.
Recently, I've made some friends from other countries who need help practicing English, and would also teach me some of their language. Obviously I can't learn everything at once, but it's fun talking bits of Spanish with one person, and German with another.
My plan is to eventually travel, and be able to understand without depending on people who speak English.

Black Cat fic - You Are But a Pet
Jan. 11th, 2012 04:41 pm This is old - a lot of my fanfiction will be. But maybe by reposting this stuff (it's up on ff.net, but my username isn't the same as this one), it'll get me writing again. The thing is, I'm just so damn busy. When I have time to dabble with fanfics or fan art, I really should be using that time to be more productive in other areas. At least until I can find a better job.

I'm team captain! XD
Jan. 10th, 2012 09:47 pm Oooooh man. I am so sore. Just got home from the gym, but wow, what an adventure it turned out to be! I go with a few friends, and today an extra one tagged along. Two of my friends are overweight, and want to lose some pounds before summer kicks in so we made a game out of it. The four of us are now known as Team Skinny By Summer (XDD), and me and the guy who tagged along today are the team captains since we are already in good enough shape (we just want to tone up).
But I ended up running into another friend who took part in the WTF Just Happened Weekend.
What is the WTF Just Happened Weekend? Well….
Basically, back in December, I actually felt like I was in a thriller movie and it was NOT FUN. Many PFAs and court orders followed. I don't really want to go into any detail, as that the whole situation is still getting sorted out, and won't get sorted out until this bitch either finds a new victim, or dies. And so the weekend that started it all, I dub the WTF Weekend.
But anyway, I was talking with him, and we saw The Enemy's mother (who was also part of the WTF Weekend!), and whew, I'm glad she didn't say anything to me. I lost ALL respect for that family, and I think a lot of others did, too. Sure did make for an interesting workout, though!
Time to veg out, take a shower, maybe draw a bit, and then go to sleep, as I have to wake up at 6am tomorrow. Yuck! Oh I miss you, College Days, where I didn't roll out of bed until 10am every morning.

anime cons
Jan. 9th, 2012 11:23 pm I'm going to Otakon this year, and maybe Tekkoshocon. I went to Tekko back in 06, and it was hella fun. I had this fun idea to raise a moogle army and storm the cons, but the group I'm tagging along with is doing Digimon Adventure 01, and I'm totally on board for that. I'd love to dress as one of the characters, but I'm not too good at sewing, and I just don't think I could pull any of them off, maybe Mimi, but she's not who I'd really want to prance around as. So I'm taking the road less traveled and I'm gonna be Gabumon! I toyed with the idea of doing Matt dressed to look like Gabumon, but that sounded too complicated.
Plan on some yellow shorts and a tank, and an altered light blue hoodie (found the perfect shade over at americanapperal!) and go from there. I'll also have some yellow knee high socks and yellow converse, and I'm going to make a lil dino tail to finish it all off. of emulations and new translations
Jan. 8th, 2012 11:31 pm So, for the past few days I've been emulating ffvi advance because I wanted to read the new translation and I really want to go through those end dungeons they added. I'd just buy the game and play it on my ds, but fuck, on amazon people want it for 40+ dollars a pop. Goes to show how good of a game it is, I guess. But right, moving on...
So I've been playing ffvi. And this new translation is okay…I still prefer the old Ted Woosley stuff, just because that's what I grew up with (and wtf are half the espers/magic/items I have?? everything is renamed, fuuuuck) and it's what I'm used to because I've played this game countless times between the snes, playstation, and the zsnes emulator. But I DO like how some scenes are flushed out more. I kinda wish I could take some text from the original, and some from the advanced version and make my own mix of it.
It's funny though, because I swear I know this game inside and out, but every now and then I make new little discoveries. Like just the other night my brother walked into my room while i was doing the opera scene and i thought i was safe after selecting what lines to say, and then i just let it go and was talking to him, and then before i know it i failed because i didn't run Celes up to the top of that damn balcony in the given time limit XD (btw, Locke sounds like such a creeper in the advanced version. i don't think he could be any more obvious!)
Of course, i have to go redo everything anyway (even the Zozo leading up to it dammit), because i accidentally hit LOAD state instead of SAVE state. I'm so brilliant. And where am I? Back in Jidoor before I reequipped my guys for finding Terra. Oh well, at least it's one of my favorite parts of the game. God help me if it was during the part where I'd have to farm all that fish in the WoR. Though once I get to that part I'll be so tempted to just stand in that little shack and hold down the space bar so time can wiz by at 10x speed.
